OUR ANIMAL LINE-UP!
PLEASE NOTE: ONE ASPECT THAT MAKES OUR SHOWS SO SPECIAL IS THAT WE KNOW EACH OF ANIMAL AS AN INDIVIDUAL. MANY OF THESE EXOTIC CREATURES HAVE UNDERGONE MONTHS, OR IN SOME CASES, YEARS OF SOCIALIZATION WITH PEOPLE AFTER BEING RESCUED FROM ABUSIVE CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS IS YET ANOTHER UNIQUE QUALITY OF OUR COMPANY AND SOMETHING YOU WILL NEVER SEE DONE IN ZOOS OR ANY OTHER TYPE ANIMAL PRESENTATION COMPANY

Name: Paloma
Species:Scarlet Macaw
Age: 15 years-old
Length: 37"
Background: Pal is quite the drama queen (being formerly owned by a NYC actor) as she loves to knock the other birds off of their perches and absolutely loves to cackle as she watches them sail to the ground! She is our company mascot and is always a hit at our parties
Interesting Fact: Former U.S. president, Theodore Roosevelt and former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill both had a pet macaw

Name: Lady Juanita
Species: Blue Fronted Amazon Parrot
Age: 14 years-old
Background: Lady Juanita came to us from a finch breeder who saw no purpose in keeping a talking parrot. Juanita seems to be the clown of the group and delights in showing off her speaking skills for our audiences!
Interesting Fact: The oldest amazon parrot lived to be 104 years-old-and spent most of his life in Alaska!

Names: Emilio & Esmiralda
Species: Jenday and Sun Conures
Age: 2 years-old
Background: Emilio and Esmiralda have quite an interesting story. Both spend their first months of life in an exotic bird store in the same cage. Emilio was soon purchased by myself and Esmiralda by a local family. I chatted with the couple at the store as we were purchasing our birds and gave them one of my business cards. A year went by and I received a call from them-but not to book a party! It turned out they were expecting a new baby and knew Esmiralda would not be receiving the attention she was used to. Arrangements were made to reunite both birds and the rest is history! The two cuddled right up next to one another as if they were never separated. We are hoping they will give us babies within the next few years!
Interesting fact: Conures are one of the few types of parrots incapable of speech

Names: Zorro & Diego
Species: European ferrets
Age: 4 Years-old
Background: Zorro & Diego came to us as 8 week-old babies. Both were so small that they could fit in the palms of your hand. My how they have grown-both now average a little over 4 pounds!
Interesting Fact: ferrets were highly regarded as pets during the 16th Century

Name: Darlene
Species: Giant Chinchilla Rabbit
Age: 7 years-old
Weight: 21 pounds!
Background: We received a call from our veterinarian about a huge rabbit that was abandoned outside his office a few weeks after Easter and asked if we would be interested in talking her in. It was love at first sight! Darlene is now spayed and litter box trained. She loves to follow me around the animal building, when outside her cage-she is more a dog or cat than a rabbit!
Interesting fact: Many people think rabbits are related to rodents, however they actually belong to a separate group of animals called lagamorphs (more closely related to deer than mice)

Name: Agatha
Species: South American Agouti
Age: 1 year-old
Background: Agatha was acquired from an exotic animal breeder in Texas who usually supplies U.S. zoos. You would not believe the looks and questions we received when we picked her up at La Guardia airport! Agatha is one of only two agoutis on Long Island (The other belonging to world-renowned pet expert, Marc Morrone, of Sirius Radio's "Ask the Petkeeper")
Interesting Fact: The Agouti is one of the few rodents that can live to be over 20 years-old

Names: Maya & Aztec
Species: South American Chinchillas
Age: 2 and 4 years-old
Background: These two are inseparable (As you can see!) Where one goes, the other follows. Both Chinchillas came to us from pet stores that were going out of business
Interesting fact: In their native country, chinchillas roll in volcanic ash, to keep their coats clean

Name: Mork
Species: Florida Soft Shell Turtle
Age: 16 years-old
Background: Mork came to us from a young woman who offered him to us after she and her family decided that they were "tired of looking at him" (apparently Mork lived in an aquarium that was situated in the family's living room for 15 years!)
Interesting fact: Soft shell turtles are the only species of turtles that do not have a true shell. Their "shell" is actually thickened, rubbery skin

Name: Sangria
Species: Columbian Red Tail Boa Constrictor
Length: 6'7"!
Weight: 17 pounds!
Background: Sangria is a beautiful animal who is always a huge hit at our parties. Although reptiles are said to be void of any personality or intelligence, this big guy is the definite exception. As soon as he sees his "travel box" to go to party, he perks right up and tries to push open the door to his cage!
Interesting fact: Boa Constrictors and other pet snakes can easily be trained to eat pre-killed prey items

Name: Tara
Species: Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula
Background: Although Tara has a pair of sharp fangs, she would never think of using them! In fact, Tara is so docile that she often falls asleep during our parties and has be woken up by tickling her abdomen!
Interesting fact: The hairs covering tarantulas were once the main ingredient used in itching powders
